A day-long training workshop on Cumulative Risk Assessment (CRA) was held at the CCHP Training Center of Chandraghona Christian Hospital in Kaptai on Wednesday (September 10, 2025). The event was organized under the initiative of the Comprehensive Community Health Program (CCHP) with the participation of CCHP health workers, trainers, and media representatives.
The program was inaugurated by the chief guest, Dr. Probir Khiyang, while Vijay Marma, Program Manager of Chandraghona Christian Hospital, delivered the welcome address. In his speech, he emphasized, “Risk identification and assessment are crucial in disaster-prone areas. Such training will enhance the skills of field-level workers and enable them to provide services to the community more effectively. During the sessions, Research Consultant Elish Arun Majumder conducted an in-depth presentation on disaster assessment, risk identification, and strategies for collective risk management. He also engaged participants in interactive discussions and shared modern approaches to risk management. According to the organizers, the training not only focused on disaster preparedness but also introduced participants to long-term risk management strategies. This will help in developing sustainable plans to tackle natural disasters and crises at the local level in the future. At the end of the workshop, participants expressed hope that if such training is organized regularly, it would strengthen disaster resilience in the community and ensure safer living conditions for the people.
